HVTB is the flagship event of MCBS Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) programme, starting in the year of 2018. This programme targets students interested in how innovations in science or technology become a reality, and helps them to define levels of maturity and next maturity goal, as well as roadmaps to attain each of these goals with clear business value.

Having worked with organisations and societies in the relevant field, such as China-Britain Technology and Trade Association (CBTTA), Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (OTEC), Manchester Entrepreneurs, Blockchainers, and HiTech Innovation Forum among others, MCBS have established its credibility and popularity in the UK-China innovation and entrepreneurship circle.

The establishment of TIE programme marks the beginning of programme-based society management structure, which will sustain the current projects and help to build long-term cooperative relationship with partners in the same field.

As China launched the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013 and enters the 45th Anniversary of China-UK Ambassadorial Diplomatic Relations, countless social, economical and academic opportunities are presented to Chinese and British stakeholders. Young and ambitious students in Manchester understand that they can be the critical drive for the betterment of this bilateral cooperation.

This conference aims to provide a place for young scholars and entrepreneurs interested in the future of the Chinese market as well as the Sino-UK relations to present their research findings and explore our resources. The Manchester Chinese Business Society (MCBS) aims to project the voices of these young leaders of tomorrow and engage students from all academic backgrounds in the discussions and development of the Sino-UK relationship.
